Elac Alchemy AS-PPA2 Phono Preamplifier

The Alchemy PPA-2 is the phono preamplifier in ELAC's Alchemy Series, with all-analog, fully discrete balanced FET gain and EQ stages, a DC servo-controlled output stage, and RIAA equalization built with 0.1% metal film resistors and selected metalized polypropylene capacitors. It works with MM and MC cartridges. Sold each.

Gain is switchable between MM and MC for each channel, MC loading is continuously adjustable, and the loading setting for each input shows on the LCD screen. It runs in stereo or mono, has a selectable rumble filter, and offers RCA or XLR inputs and outputs. An internally shielded toroidal transformer and linear power supply keep radiated hum low, and ELAC notes it provides an improved power source for the Miracord 70 and 90 turntable motor.
